Hypnosis and NLP Courses

Clinical Hypnosis, Hypnotherapy and NLP are professions that carry a significant responsibility to the public who need our help. Therefore, I do not allow everyone who applies for the course to attend. Do not panic about the criteria outlined below. My policy is along the lines of the Open University – you do not need to have ‘good academic qualifications’ to apply and be successful as a Clinical Hypnotist. Around 45% of the students that take courses at CICH have nothing more than GCE’s or GCSE’s. I am far more interested in you, your life experience and ability to cope with the course and demands of the profession.

I feel it is of the utmost importance that anyone who attends this course fulfills the following criteria:

 Is of suitable character to take on responsibility of a career working with vulnerable people

 Has a mature personality and is psychologically stable; to be able to listen to traumatic details without being adversely affected personally

 Has sufficient life experience or background knowledge to be able to cope with the academic demands of the course.

The course would not be suitable for;

Anyone suffering mental ill health or with drug or alcohol problems
people aged under 21 - unless working in the caring professions and can furnish us with a reference from an employer for their maturity of character
people who want to use hypnosis for entertainment
people who think hypnosis is a way of exercising power over people,
people who have no desire to practice (studying for personal interest only).

Coaching Courses

The criteria is not quite so stringent as those for the above courses. This is because most of the people who seek help from a coach are not usually suffering from severe psychological problems; they are looking for help to find direction or focus.
